Servicing Formats

16mm film transfer

This machine uses a laser that is triggered by the side perforation on the film. That triggers a 4k scan of each frame. Then the software threads all the frames together & creates a video. The film is thoroughly cleaned & assessed. Whether it has audio or not. The audio is a separate track & we sync it back to the video. We scan at 1080HD

Digital Video

Digital video is an electronic representation of moving visual images in the form of encoded digital data. Three popular examples of digital video formats are DV (Digital Video), HDV (High Definition Video), and AVCHD (Advanced Video Codec High Definition). Digital video utilizes a digital video signal rather than an analog video signal.

Betamax

Betamax, a pioneering home video format, holds a wealth of memories, from family events to historical broadcasts. However, with the passage of time, these tapes are susceptible to degradation, putting their valuable content at risk. Advanced AI

Once media is archived correctly we can scrub the media based on various search criteria, including facial recognition, key words in the audio etc. Preparing media for litigation. We use a Bates numbering system that cross references all media & a filing nomenclature that facilitates the entering of the media as an exhibit to the court.

Audio Tape

Audio tape comes in many forms/ Starting out with reel to reel 1/4" stereo. Then 1/4" four track, 8 track stereo, Stereo Cassette then DAT, Digital Audio Tape. Up to 64 tracks ( When 4 x Teac decks are daisy chained together) There are also 1/2" & 1" reel to reel multi track formats.

D-3

The D3 format was the most advanced at the time. Uncompressed Digital. It meant that you could pre read edits so the machine became both a source & a recorder at the same time! D-3 was launched in 1991. It uses half-inch metal particle tape at 83.88 mm/s

P-2

P2 is a professional digital recording solid-state memory storage format introduced by Panasonic in 2004. They are closely related to the SD format because a P2 card is actually four SD cards inserted into an enclosure. The P2 cards are physically larger.
